Jose Sola has been CEO of Mexico Telecom Partners since January 2014. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development in Latin America in Global Tower Partners (“GTP”), where he successfully led the expansion and implementation of GTP in Mexico and Costa Rica.
Jose Sola began his career in telecommunications in 1994 when he joined Telefónica, one of the leading companies in the sector in Europe and Latin America. He held different executive positions in the areas of Investor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Development in the offices of Madrid and Miami.
Before joining Telefónica, Jose worked in the international division of Endesa, performing financial due diligence on acquisitions in Portugal.
He has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Granada – Spain and completed his studies in Business Administration from the University of Limerick – Ireland.
Gonzalo Cornejo joined Mexico Telecom Partners as CFO in September 2014. Before joining MTP, Gonzalo was Senior Vice President at Macquarie, the world’s largest infrastructure fund and one of MTP’s shareholders. Gonzalo began his career at Macquarie in New York, moving later to Mexico to help establish the office and the first fund in the region. Initially, Gonzalo oversaw the acquisitions made by Macquarie’s fund in Mexico, leading several transactions, including the initial package of 200 telecommunications Towers that later resulted in the creation of Mexico Telecom Partners.
Gonzalo also held the position of Head of Asset Management of Macquarie’s fund in Mexico. In addition to this, Gonzalo had different roles in financial institutions in Buenos Aires, London, and New York, where he worked in investment transactions throughout different industries.
Gonzalo has an MBA from Columbia Business School, as well as a degree in Business Economics and a Master’s in Finance from Universidad Di Tella in Argentina.
Martha Coronel joined Mexico Telecom Partners as Operations Manager in September 2015. She currently serves as Director of Development and O&M. Martha has 16 years of experience in the development of Towers (Built to Suit), as well as the maintenance of mobile infrastructure.
Before joining MTP, Martha served as Project Manager of Cellular Sites (BTS) at Vant Exgon, where she developed several activities such as infrastructure acquisition, development of the executive project, civil and electrical work, technology implementation, and maintenance.
Martha holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico.
Javier Wiechers joined Mexico Telecom Partner in October 2020 as Sales Vice President.
Javier has 25 years of sales experience, mainly in Telecommunications, where he had the opportunity to lead several executive managing positions and high-performance teams at Enterprise Business for Telefónica and AT&T, conducting prominent projects in wire and mobile line, Cloud, Data Center and Internet of Things for Finance, Retail, Automotive, Service Industry and Government.
Javier holds a master’s degree in Digital Business Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Intercontinental at Mexico City.
Carlos Buitelaar joined MTP as Vice President of M&A and Corporate Development in June 2019. Before joining MTP, Carlos was Vice President at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, the world’s largest infrastructure fund manager and one of MTP shareholder partners. While working in Macquarie, Carlos actively participated in the creation of MTP and accompanied the company through several important operations.
In addition to his role as MTP asset manager, Carlos worked in various investments operations in Mexico and the United States in the telecommunications infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. Before his work at Macquarie, he held different roles in financial institutions in Miami and Philadelphia. Carlos has an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Economics from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Patricia Bogarin joined Mexico Telecom Partners team as Vice President of Legal in January 2014. Before joining MTP, Patricia worked at Global Towers Partners (“GTP”), where she represented a fundamental piece in the implementation and development of the Latin America Legal Department. She oversaw all legal matters related to the company’s telecommunications activities in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama. In her role as assistant to the corporate advisor in Latin America, she advised and worked closely with the departments of Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate, Leases, Operations and Asset Management.
Previously, Patricia held a series of leading roles in the real estate sector, and in the real estate title and mortgage loan insurance industry. She obtained her law degree from the National University of San Marcos (Lima) and after being admitted to the Lima Bar Association, she devoted herself to private practice for several years, focusing on real estate development and commercial transactions and Loan before moving to the United States.
Sergio Hori joined Mexico Telecom Partners in February 2015 as Controller. He has more than 18 years of experience in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Project Control, Budgets, and Internal Control.
He began his professional career at PWC in international taxes, providing consultancy services to various expatriate managers of the most important transnational companies in Mexico. Later, he joined Corporative Dine (Group Desc) as Senior Accountant as the responsible of accounting, taxes, and treasury for ten real estate companies that sell residential land on markets for people with high acquisition power. Sergio worked 10 years for the Spanish company Iberdrola serving as Finance Director, actively participating in the control and monitoring of electrical infrastructure projects under the scheme of Financed Public Works for the CFE. Also, he worked for 2 years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as Financial Director of the subsidiary of Iberdrola in that country, controlling the financial and fiscal part of a nuclear project with a state client, Electronuclear. He has experience in companies dedicated to road infrastructure, as well as in the construction of telecommunications Towers.
Sergio has a bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting from Universidad Anahuac, and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Banking and Commercial School.
Antonio Ruiz has more than 24 years of experience in the IT sector, where he has collaborated in the areas of architecture, planning, and data centers, redesign projects and certifying them in international industry standards. Antonio graduated from ITESM as a Computer Systems Engineer, with a diploma in the Executive Alfa Leadership, Technology and Business Acumen Program from the MIT Sloan School of Management; he also holds a Data Center Specialist certification from Data Center Dynamics.
Mariana Guerrero joined MTP in October 2018 as Real Estate Manager. She currently holds the position of Real Estate Director.
With over 20 years of experience in Asset Management, Mariana began her professional career in the Financial sector. She worked for over 14 years at Grupo Findep, a leading Microfinance company in Mexico. During her tenure, she held various executive positions overseeing Real Estate, Expansion, Purchasing, Infrastructure, Security, Construction, and Maintenance departments. In these roles, she successfully developed and led significant restructuring and cost reduction projects.
Mariana holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Technological University of Mexico.
Arcadio Valenzuela Irurita joined MTP in January 2015 as a Financial Analyst. Currently, he holds the position of Financial Planning Director. With 9 years of valuable experience at MTP, Arcadio has closely collaborated with the IT and finance departments. His primary focus is MTP's exponential growth, whether through process automation or ensuring sufficient capital to support the company's acquisitions and projects.
Moreover, he has played a key role in leading MTP's adaptation to the latest technological trends. This includes the successful implementation of cutting-edge tools such as Artificial Intelligence, the seamless integration of platforms like Dynamics, and the development of custom software for various areas of the company. His expertise also extends to investor relations and raising capital to support the company's growth initiatives.
Arcadio holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and Technological Innovation Management from the Universidad Panamericana.
